Pioneer Day

In celebration of the pioneers that traveled across the plains to settle my home state of Utah we had a BBQ with Michael, Christy and Family. We have had a sort of tradition celebrating the 4th of July together but this year we were both on separate vacations. So, we decided to celebrate the 24th of July instead. First we stuffed ourselves and then the kids played in the water while the parents chatted for a while. We had decided to do banana splits for dessert so when our tummies were ready we gorged ourselves on those. We then got a little firework show compliments of Dayv. The kids also got to run around with sparklers that Michael & Christy brought which I think the kids enjoy more than the fireworks. Then we got to enjoy an even bigger firework show compliments of our neighbors. We all had a wonderful time! Maybe we will have to carry on a 24th of July tradition too!
